I found this image on Tumblr of Natalia Osipova:
and there was an interesting comment noting that she actually does a small rond while doing a grande jete, which may get her up to 6" or so farther in the air. I wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't been pointed out (it's the second leap in the gif with her right leg). That's kinda neat- I wonder if it does actually get her up higher?
